Frequently asked questions
Which format should I use?
WebP for the web: it is much smaller than JPG and PNG and every current browser shows it. JPG for photos that must open everywhere. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with transparency or sharp text.
What happens to transparency in JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you pick (white by default).
Can it open HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Only in browsers that can display HEIC themselves (Safari). Elsewhere, set the iPhone to “Most Compatible” in Settings → Camera → Formats to get JPG.
