Case converter
Type or paste text and switch it between upper, lower, title and sentence case or the naming styles used in code.
How it works
Lower and upper case use your browser’s Unicode rules. Title Case keeps these words lower case unless they start the text: a, an, and, as, at, but, by, for, in, nor, of, on, or, so, the, to, up, yet. For the code styles, the text is split into words at spaces, punctuation and lower-to-upper case changes, then joined again.
Worked example
“user account ID”
- camelCase: userAccountId
- snake_case: user_account_id
- kebab-case: user-account-id
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
Title Case capitalizes the main words of a heading (short words like “of” and “the” stay lower case unless they come first). Sentence case capitalizes only the first word of each sentence.
When are camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case used?
In code and URLs: camelCase for JavaScript variables, PascalCase for class names, snake_case in Python and databases, kebab-case in URLs and CSS class names.
Does it handle accented letters?
Yes for upper, lower, title and sentence case. The code styles keep letters and digits and use spaces, dashes and underscores as word breaks.
