Slug generator
Turn a title into a clean, lower-case URL slug, one per line if you paste a list.
0 for max length means no limit; slugs are cut at a word boundary.
How it works
- Letters are decomposed and accents dropped (é → e); a few special letters are spelled out (ß → ss, ł → l).
- Everything is lower-cased; “&” becomes “and”.
- Anything that is not a letter or digit becomes the separator, and repeats are merged.
- Optionally stop words are dropped, and the slug is cut to the maximum length at a word boundary.

Frequently asked questions
What makes a good URL slug?
Short, lower case, words separated by hyphens, no special characters, and only the words that describe the page. Search engines read hyphens as spaces; underscores join words together.
What happens to accented letters?
They are turned into their plain Latin letters: é → e, ż → z, ß → ss, æ → ae. Letters from other scripts are removed unless you keep them.
Should I remove stop words?
Often it makes the slug shorter and clearer (“how-to-bake-bread” instead of “how-to-bake-a-loaf-of-bread”), but keep them when the phrase reads wrong without them.
