Enter the distance, your car’s fuel consumption and the fuel price to see what the trip costs, and what each person pays.

Fuel cost

How it works

fuel = distance × consumption ÷ 100 (L/100 km)fuel = distance ÷ mpg (US)cost = fuel × price

Worked example

  1. 450 km × 6.5 ÷ 100 = 29.25 L
  2. 29.25 × 1.75 = 51.19
  3. 51.19 for the trip

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my car’s consumption?

The trip computer shows it, or fill the tank, drive, fill again and divide the litres by the kilometres × 100. Official figures are usually 10–20% lower than real driving.

Does it count the return trip?

Tick “return trip” to double the distance.

Can I use it for an electric car?

Yes: enter kWh per 100 km as the consumption and the price per kWh as the fuel price.
