Remove line breaks
Paste text with unwanted line breaks, for example from a PDF or an email, to get clean lines and paragraphs.
Frequently asked questions
Why does text copied from a PDF break in the middle of sentences?
A PDF stores each printed line separately, so copying gives a line break at the end of every line. Joining the lines puts the sentences back together.
What does “keep paragraphs” do?
An empty line marks a new paragraph: those are kept, while single line breaks inside a paragraph are turned into spaces.
What about words split with a hyphen at the end of a line?
Tick “join hyphenated words” to turn “docu-\nment” back into “document”.
