Frequently asked questions

How is the needed final score calculated?

Your current grade counts for (100 − final weight)% of the course and the final for the rest. The score you need is (goal − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight.

What if I need more than 100%?

Then the goal cannot be reached with the final alone, unless there is extra credit. The calculator shows the best course grade you can still get.

Where do I find the weight of the final?

In the course syllabus, usually as a percentage such as “Final exam: 30%”.
