Scientific calculator
A scientific calculator with trigonometry, powers, roots, logarithms and factorials. Type an expression or use the keys.
How it works
The expression is read by a small parser in the page, not by eval: numbers, + − × ÷, ^ for powers, brackets, ! for factorials, % (divides by 100) and the functions sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, ln, log (base 10), √/sqrt, exp and abs, with the constants π and e.
Frequently asked questions
In what order are operations done?
Brackets first, then powers (right to left, so 2^3^2 = 2^9), then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction, as in school maths. A minus in front binds weaker than a power: −2^2 = −4.
Degrees or radians?
Use the switch above the keys. In degrees sin(30) = 0.5; in radians sin(π/6) = 0.5.
Can I type with the keyboard?
Yes: type the expression in the box (sqrt, pi, ^, *, /) and press Enter. ans is the last result.
